We are a group of parent volunteers working to help students succeed by creating great learning opportunities. Our mission is to empower every student to reach their full potential through the collaborative support of parents, teachers, and the community.
But what is it?
There are 2 components to our parent ran council:
School Council - a meeting between parents and the principal, where we discuss school-related topics, events, trends, and any concerns. These meetings are purely for discussion and connection — no fundraising, no volunteering, just your time and voice. These meetings are usually 630pm to 730pm every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Parent Associations - School councils are not allowed to fundraise for the school. This is where the parent association comes into play. Consider it a business that donates 100% of its profit to the school. These meetings discuss opportunities on how we can best support the schools needs, ideas on how to fundraise the money, and approve funding requests presented by the school. These meetings are usually ran 730pm-830pm every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Want to make a difference in your child’s school experience? Join the Elizabeth Finch School Council and be a voice for students, parents, and teachers! You can contribute as much or as little as your schedule allows. Whether you want to take on a executive role or just help out occasionally, every bit of involvement makes a difference.

No pressure, no long-term commitments—just a chance to support our students in a way that works for you.
One of the most commonly voiced concerns is “I don’t want to be forced to volunteer.” Rest assured, while we welcome and appreciate all who choose to help in that way, volunteering is never a requirement. Many parents attend simply to stay informed, share feedback, and offer their perspectives—without ever having to volunteer.
